Uche Sparks Comfortable Crystal Palace Victory at Shelbourne.

Despite entering their maiden European adventure, Oliver Glasner's side are adapting very quickly. Without star players like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the London club left Dublin with a commanding result that virtually guarantees them a spot in the Europa Conference League playoffs.

Another victory in their next fixture against Finnish KuPS should be sufficient to seal direct entry to the last 16, particularly after a prior stumble against Strasbourg.

Fringe Players Seize the Moment

This occasion offered a chance for several Palace's fringe talent to impress. Christantus Uche, making only his second beginning after arriving on loan from Getafe, opened the account with a clinical goal. Striker Eddie Nketiah added a second, scoring for the second consecutive match.

A Shelbourne team that had finished their league season proved no match against a mostly rotated Palace outfit. The Londoners were already weakened by the news that Mateta and Muñoz are out with knee injuries.

The home side were hanging on for dear life. Full-back Kameron Ledwidge was fortunate to escape a booking for a couple of agricultural challenges on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards rattled the crossbar with a powerful header from a corner.

The match was effectively over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino meandered past some comically weak challenges before coolly dispatching a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.

Following the break, manager Oliver Glasner took the chance to withdraw key players like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse almost scoring with his first touch, but saw his shot blocked.

The youngster was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one attempt crash off both posts before being gathered on the line. Uche then missed a glaring chance, indicating there is still room for improvement in his game.

The only worry for Palace was a late injury to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This paved the way for 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to earn his senior debut, rounding off an otherwise perfect evening for the visiting side.
